Network Magic Problem…

So, I have myself a network at home, connecting my two desktop computers and a wireless laptop. A few days ago I was studying at the library and I turned off a few windows services (I think I was bored). This caused a little problem on my laptop. I’m not even sure if it was the services, it might have been giving me a problem earlier. It is DEFINATLY not the firewall. I uninstalled Kaspersky, re-installed it, and set the permissions, everything. Whenever I try to brows folders from my desktop computer or browsing folders from the laptop, I get a message…

I’m not sure what it means… If i figure it out, I’ll write a post with the solution.

So I fiddled with the services a bit again, and this let me browse my shared laptop folders from my desktop computers. I’ll play with it more and see where it takes me…

New Car

So, today marks the day a new member has entered the family. It has not been used, or i an accident. It is actually brand spankng new… YES!, it’s a new car. I don’t know what you were thinking about

The bugle (Buick Regal ‘95) has been giving us a lot of troubles these past few days, from not starting, to eletricals all shutting down. This weekend, while driving to the cousins for a little party, the alternator decided to stop working, thus draining the battery during the drive, leading to the quit frightening flickering of all my lights, resulting in shutting down. luckly I boosted it and got it back home. That marked the last straw. Parents went to the nearest Toyotal dealership and picked up a new 2009, Toyota Corolla LE. (I was pushing the S but that didn’t fly) They actually traded the Bugle in and got 1000 for it. But the challenge was actually getting it there. So, we charged the battery and prayed to god it would get to the dealers without dying or showing signs of death. HA, the silly guys bought the act.

March 25th, 2008, marks the day our Bugle has moved on to a better place. A place of happiness and joy. A place where he will see his long lost buddies. A place where the jaws of life with tear every panel from its body and where its naked frame will get crushed and recycled. This is not the death of my Bugle, only the resurrection, due to car metal recycling laws.

Online Storage

SO, I have moved to a brand spanking new on-line storage website

This one is called MediaMax. www.mediamax.com is their website. Right now, for free users, no trial periods, they offer a 25gb storage space. Now, compare this to Windows SkyDrive at 5GB, and XDrive at 5 GB. Media Max defiantly has the greatest deal going on.

The only downside to this fairy tale is the MediaMax XL software that they provide. This is a program that allows you to upload your files and even sync folders, from your desktop, rather than doing so from their website. Right now, its not really working well or me, hopefully due to it being in the beta stages.

Maybe in the near future, they will get this Desktop Uploader baby up and running, but in the meantime, I will enjoy a glass of hot tea, as I watch my school documents be stored on MediaMax’s servers…
